The Great Gatsby

The exemplary novel of the Jazz Age, F. Scott Fitzgeralds' third book, The Great Gatsby (1925), stands as the supreme achievement of his career. T. S. Eliot read it three times and saw it as the "first step" American fiction had taken since Henry James; H. L. Mencken praised "the charm and beauty of the writing," as well as Fitzgerald's sharp social sense; and Thomas Wolfe hailed it as Fitzgerald's "best work" thus far. The story of the fabulously wealthy Jay Gatsby and his love for the beautiful Daisy Buchanan, of lavish parties on Long Island at a time when, The New York Times remarked, "gin was the national drink and sex the national obsession," it is an exquisitely crafted tale of America in the 1920s that resonates with the power of my...

This Classics give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Decades later, still great but on different terms.
Having reread this book for the first time in 20 years, I can confirm that there's a reason that it's considered one of the very best American novels. However, my reaction to the story was different than when I first read it in high school. I recall that back then I was hoping that Daisy and Gatsby's love story would ultimately yield a happy ending. Now, I found them both to be such shallow creatures that they inspired no pity. While I considered the characters to be emotionally stunted, that dooesn't mean I was not impressed with Fitzergerald's skillful rendering. As in most forms of art, in literature it is more difficult to accurately and interestingly portray nothingness than to describe a richly endowed subject. At this more cynical age, I found Daisy to be a remarkable emotional void, and Gatsby's quest to pour all of his hopes and dreams into such a shallow cauldron only confirmed his own vapidity. One thing that hasn't changed in all these years is my amazement at Fitzgerald's...

2. Shines Brilliantly Like a Just-Discovered Piece of Cameo Jewelry from a Bygone Era
It's difficult to give any even-handed critique F. Scott Fitzgerald's standard-setting Jazz Age novel since it was required reading for most of us in high school. However, if you come back to it as a full-fledged adult, you'll find that the story still resonates but more like a just-polished cameo piece from a forgotten time. At the core of the book is the elaborate infatuation Jay Gatsby has for Daisy Fay Buchanan, a love story portrayed with both a languid pall and a fatalistic urgency. But the broader context of the setting and the irreconcilable nature of the American dream in the 1920's is what give the novel its true gravitas.

Much of this is eloquently articulated by Nick Carraway, Gatsby's modest Long Island neighbor who becomes his most trusted confidante. Nick is responsible for reuniting the lovers who both have come to different points in their lives five years after their aborted romance. Now a solitary figure in his luxurious mansion, Gatsby is a newly wealthy...

Note on Kindle editions
There are two Kindle editions of The Great Gatsby, both at the same price.

Unfortunately the edition I bought, from Old Landmark Publishing, has a number of minor transcription errors. The most notable is the occasional

insertion of multiple paragraph

breaks within a sentence. There are also occasional misplaced paragraph breaks in dialog paragraphs, which sometimes leads to confusion about which character is speaking.

I downloaded the free sample of the Scribner Edition and although that is only a short sample, it appears to be a much better quality transcription.

So since there are several Kindle editions available, you might want to avoid the Old Landmark Publishing Edition (the one with the car on the cover) and try the Scribner Edition (the one with the dark blue cover with a face superimposed).

1. Great Protection!
I received my Kindle Fire HD 7” Otterbox today and it fits like a glove! Very sturdy! I feel very comfortable now about popping the Kindle into my purse or letting the grandchildren having a go at it. Glad I didn’t pay attention the negative reviews by people who didn’t know what they were talking about. Note: Otterbox needs to post the instructions for installing the case on the Kindle Fire HD. The instructions included in the box were for a phone cover and it did take a few minutes to figure it out the Kindle case.

2. great product!
i have read some reviews where people are concerned about this product not being an authentic otterbox item. i can tell you it is in fact the real deal. i purchased 2 kindle fire 7" hds for my 2 children as xmas presents, while my children happen to be careful with thier toys i figured it cant hurt to have some extra protection. so i ordered them at the same time as the kindles knowing i more than likely wouldnt have bought them after they have been played with. so heres the break down: great product, offical otterbox item not a knock off, fits like a glove, has a great protective screen saver built in that cleans easily, all buttons and port are usable,no problems with speakers being covered, and as i have witnessed at least once it can take a drop. abit expensive but i think worth the investment if u are like me and want things to stay nice and working as long as possible. on a side note i also bought the kindle wall chargers and the square trade protection plans (for the kindles...

Nearly perfect
Fourth time's a charm... I've been struggling to find the perfect Kindle cover. My criteria are protection, aesthetics, bulk and usability. OttorBox meets or exceeds most of them. It certainly protects well, as do all their products, though it does take a bit to figure out how to take it apart the first time you use it. It's blocky, but not awful to look at, though with the detachable stand it gets awful thick. I kept that for watching movies and whatnot, but doubt I'll use it much. Certainly I won't leave it attached all the time. Useability-wise, the speakers are uncovered and all the buttons and ports are readily accessible. The built in cover lets plenty of light through. The only common feature not found with other covers is the auto sleep/wake function, but I really don't mind pushing the on/off button instead. Of the four covers I've tried (Verso "Prologue" Standing Cover for Kindle Fire HD 8.9", Antique Tan...

1. WONDERFUL, Holds my kindle in place FIRMLY!
Finally, a case that holds the kindle in place without falling!!! I bought other cases that had to be returned. This is expensive, yes. BUT, it does what it says, it's got great protection, holds up your 8.9 in. kindle FIRMLY, no worries! Different positions, folds up nicely, THANK YOU!

2. Good idea, needs better instructions and screen protector
As you read this review, please keep in mind that i like and am keeping the product. So, any criticisms are about improving the product.

Once i had my Kindle installed, the first thing i noticed was that the reflection produced by the OtterBox was visibly greater than that of the Kindle alone. This is especially pronounced in bright light, which the Kindle itself handled fairly well. For the present i will keep it as is and at some point i will determine if i should remove the OtterBox screen and replace it with a screen protector that attaches directly to the Kindle screen. I've already done this with my iPhone OtterBox Defender and the result is very useable. Yes, i lose their warranty, but product usefulness is important to me, and, given that the OtterBox screen protector does not cover the camera hole anyway i don't think i will lose that much protection should i decide to remove the OtterBox screen and replace it with a directly connected screen protecter. OTTERBOX DOES IT AGAIN ! ! ! ! ! !

  • Dual material construction for multiple layers of shock absorption
  • Reinforced rubber bumpers on the corners
  • Includes replaceable integrated screen cover for protection during use
  • Offers shock absorption, drop protection, and extreme ruggedness

This Cases give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Love the Look and Quality!
Let me start of by saying I already had a case for my Kindle Fire. I wasn't unhappy with it, not until I started using the Gumdrop case. I also have the Marware leather case. It was okay. I will NOT be going back to that Marware leather case now that I have been using the Gumdrop case.

Con:
-It can't stand the kindle upright
-It collects lint

Pros:
-Lightweight
-Awesome looking (LOVE the color!)
-VERY durable
-Hard plastic screen protector
-Touch screen works great under the above mentioned screen protector
-I've dropped my kindle multiple times (on accident!) with no consequence
-The texture of the durable rubber backing makes it easier to hold (I'm dropping it less now! haha)

I highly recommend this Gumdrop case. I notice that some have complained that it makes the Kindle too hot or overheats it - I have not had this problem. I play games for hours and read for even longer... No problems whatsoever. If I...

2. Didn't get to use it.
I ordered this for my 8 yr old daughter's Kindle Fire HD not knowing it wouldn't fit. The description of product just said 7" Kindle Fire but didn't specify that it was not compatible with the HD model. Being I have never owned a Kindle Fire before, I didn't realize there was a difference in the two. Even though I didn't get to use, it seemed to be a very good product and would offer great protection for the device. Wish they offered it for the HD model. I would definitely buy it.

Outlasted the Kindle, But...
I bought my dad a Kindle Fire as a Christmas present last year and as it is he doesn't get a lot of use out of the device. I on the other hand love the simplicity of the device and love reading so end up using the Fire more than him.

The first case I purchased for the Fire was a standard, black-leather folio case with a soft microfiber lining. It looked really sharp on the Fire but didn't really afford much extra protection. So the hunt for a new case began and that's where I first discovered the Gumdrop cases.

This little case is made from some heavy duty silicone that fits tightly around the Fire in its lime-green glory. I love the splash of color and it matches the color of my wife's M-Edge Kindle Jacket. The color is loud so if you're looking for something more subtle this just isn't it. The silicone skin and screen protector do a fine job protecting the Fire from damage. I let my 8 year old nephew play with the Fire and he tested the impact resistance of the...

Amazon Kindle Fire 5ft USB to Micro-USB Cable (works with most Micro-USB Tablets)

  • Official Amazoncom replacement for the USB cable that comes in-box with Kindle Fire, Kindle Fire HD 7", and Kindle Fire HD 8.9"
  • 5-ft cable length
  • MicroUSB to USB
  • For use with all Kindle tablets and e-readers

This Power Cables give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Ships With All Current Kindle Fires...
Amazon already includes this cable with the Kindle Fire 7", the Kindle Fire HD 7" and the Kindle Fire HD 8.9". It's also great to purchase as a back up for the office or to take with you on the go. For the peace of mind knowing Amazon designed this to work specifically with Kindle Fire, it's worth the price.

The quality of this cable compared to the previous white USB cable is much better. This cable has a thicker jacket on the outside so hopefully overtime it will hold up much better. Data transfer speeds between the computer and the device are relatively quick. This cable is actually a bit shorter than the white cable even though both are supposed to be 5 ft. in length. Measuring both...

2. Extremely Handy!
Having recently received a Kindle Fire HD as a gift, I knew that hooking it up to my computer to charge it daily was not going to be convenient. That's when I found this little jewel along with the Kindle Fire AC charger. And they both work like a DREAM!. My desk stays uncluttered and the cord allows me to keep the Kindle plugged in while I read in bed or listen to music. It's well worth the price for the convenience it provides!

Does What It Was Made To Do
The cable does speed up the charging of the Kindle Fire as opposed to the cables that are used with the regular Kindle. IMO, it shoud have been included with the purchase of the device, along with a plug/charger. Seems like everything is a la carte these days though.

This Cases give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Beautiful, chic case for my Kindle Fire.
I initially was a little hesitant about ordering this case because of some of the negative reviews saying this case was overpriced or of poor quality. I am very glad I went with my gut and bought it - it's a very sturdy, cute case that seems to be very protective. I ordered the black, which goes great with my other electronics (also black). Additionally, I love the sleek, professional look to this case. I bring my Kindle to the office almost everyday and have gotten several compliments already.

2. Nice Study Case - Just watch out for the magnet!
Very nice case from Belkin. I had originally ordered the Amazon case that was offered at the time I ordered my Fire HD. It did not meet the up to the standards of what I expect from a near $50 investment. It went back to Amazon and I purchased this Belkin quilted case to replace it. I really like the Belkin for several reasons, even as the reviews complain about the ports being on the inside and not as accessible for charging. I found this to be a plus for me as I tend to be around a dusty environment and I feel this adds a layer of protection that the Amazon case didn't. Yes, it is a bit awkward at first because it is actually in the case upside-down and this can be a problem for some apps, yet I have only encountered one that required the case to be in the "upright" position. The one part of this Belkin that I had read on the other posts was the magnet. Yes, this is not a weak magnet at all! I have caught myself setting my wallet on the case (on top of my Fire HD) and then I...

Case has issues!
For $40 bucks this case is a joke. First off you can not charge with the case closed. Also the wake up feature is very inconsistent, and it's very bulky. Obviously the price is because it has the Belkin name on it and not because its well made. Don't waste your money on this one.

1. GREAT COVER!
Received this Kate Spade cover for my fire yesterday and just love it. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of some of the other covers but it's so stylish. The cover is very light and thin and fits the fire snuggley and securely. There is no stand, pocket or snap closure but for me, the stylish element is more important. Fits nicely in my purse to cart around. Love it!

2. FASHIONABLE AND EXCELLENT QUALITY
I bought this over a year ago and it still looks amazing. My kindle fits perfectly and the elastic straps remain in perfect shape. I'm a big fan of Kate Spade and found this cover to be very attractive.

Returned
I got this cover for my brand new Kindle Fire. Though I really like the print, it seems to be made of cheap material. Mine had a bunch of bubbles in it and for what they charge for it, I thought it could have been made better and of higher quality materials. I returned mine and bought one from our local Best Buy. True, it's just basic black, but it is genuine leather and made much better. Very disappointed that I couldn't have a fashionable cover but it's what's inside that matters, I guess.

  • Case transforms into stand for hands-free viewing and typing angles
  • Durable padded exterior
  • Soft-lined interior

This Cases give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Keeps my Kindle fire safe and looks good.
I purchased this cover about 3 months ago from a big box store.
This Kindle Fire cover is well made. It has tight stitching all around in a contrasting ecru color. The front portion is lightly padded and provides good screen protection. The inside of the front cover is covered in a very soft light grey material. The back is firm and lightly textured so that it doesn't feel like it will slip out of my hand when I carry it. The Fire is held in the cover by curved corners that do not interfer with the screen view or touch. The cover is held closed in the same fashion.

To use the stand I open the cover and pull the two corners closest to the spine out of the corners and then the fire stands in landscape mode. I usually do this if I'm in a resturant and want to read at the table. It works well. The Kindle can be set at two different angles. Both of which work well for me.

Pro's:
*Well made, sturdy and durable.
*Stand up function works well
*Soft...

2. Best case for the price
Tried several other cases in this price range (under $40) and this is by far the best. It has three stable angles for viewing and the front folds flat to the back when you are reading like holding a book. Looks and feels very rich. Very satisfied.

Verso Trends Darwin Croc Case for Kindle Fire HD 7" (Previous Generation), Red (will only fit Kindle Fire HD 7", Previous Generation)

Verso Darwin Cover for Kindle Fire HD 7" By LightWedge Inspired by the classic fashion trend of red crocodile, the Verso Darwin cover protects your tablet in style. • Certified "Made for Kindle" Accessory for Kindle Fire HD 7" (will not fit Kindle Fire or Kindle Fire HD 8.9")
  • Sturdy yet trim cover protects devices from damage
  • Patent-pending corner elastics provide a snug fit for devices without impairing functionality

This Cases give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Beautiful, sturdy case
As this is a Kindle case, there isn't a lot to analyze. The case is sturdy and very attractive. The red material of the cover looks shiny in the product image, and it is.

The cover is sturdy enough to stand up so that your Fire HD can sit upright to play a movie. Just fold it over to about a 30-35 degree angle and it sits upright.

There are elastic bands at each of the four corners which cover part of the Kindle surface, but don't extend onto the actual viewable portion of the screen. They hold the device snugly in place without exerting undue pressure.

There is a small pocket that could be used to shove receipts or something of the sort in. Others have complained that it wouldn't hold a notebook, but I've never personally wanted to hold a notebook in a Kindle cover. LOL

Recommended.

2. Pretty solid case.... although it has shortcomings..
First and foremost, Amazon shipped fast, got here on time and undamaged. Picked up the Fire HD recently and got this case to go with it. Its a very nice case as far as looks... If you like Red, this is a beauty. The straps hold the fire in, but one of the straps is near the volume rocker, and gets in the way. Also, unless I missed something, their is only one angle really to place it on and watch a movie, so if your on an airline in economy seating and you put your table down to place the kindle in viewing mode to watch a movie, the angle is not right, its to low, so basically you still have to hold it to watch it. Overall, its a nice case, very durable, and looks like a book when closed.

Better looking than in the picture
I agree with other reviewers that this isn't the most protective case, but for my purposes, this cover is just fine. I ordered this because I plan to get the Kindle Fire HD, but it actually fits my old-school 2nd generation Kindle.

The red is a true red, much lighter than the picture, and the stitching and faux croc is beautiful. There is nothing to keep the case closed, so I wouldn't want it floating around loose in my bag. I'll probably use a pony-tail holder or something similar to keep it closed if I have to put it in my bag, but I mostly use my Kindle at home and my Kindle app on my iPod away from home.

I would never have paid the $59.00 price for this, so I'm very glad I got to try it for free. I would maybe consider it for half that price.

This Cases give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Good Cover
I love the cover. I just wish that that the spine were softer so it cover would fully close. Top stays open.

2. Mislabeled Cover
While the description of this product clearly states that it fits the Kindle Paperwhite, etc. the labeling from Kate Spade, the manufacturer, states otherwise.

I know this because it says so inside the cover "This case is made for the Kindle Fire only. enjoy!"

I assume that's why the review written before me also complains that the cover is too big for their Kindle.

Amazon has opened a "research case" in reference to the mixup since I called customer service.

It is a very cute cover and seems very well made, unfortunately if you order it for anything but the Kindle Fire, you will be disappointed. That is the only reason I gave this one star. Otherwise, it seems great!

The Fault in Our Stars

TIME Magazine’s #1 Fiction Book of 2012! “The Fault in Our Stars is a love story, one of the most genuine and moving ones in recent American fiction, but it’s also an existential tragedy of tremendous intelligence and courage and sadness.” —Lev Grossman, TIME Magazine Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten. Insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw, The Fault in Our Stars is award-winning-author John Green’s most ambitious and heartbreaking work yet, brillian...

This Love & Romance give to us some advantages, like this :
1. The Best Book I've Read in Years
I've read a lot of books, but this is one of my all time favorites; that's not something I can say about very many books. I'll make it simple; I'm a fifteen year old teenage boy. When I usually read a book, I toss it aside and move on to the next one. And, like most teenage boys, I am not very emotional. At the end of this book, I cried. Not just a few tears either; I was full on bawling my eyes out. That's how good this book is. I promise you, unless you have a heart of stone, you will love this book.

2. Young Adult Fiction at its finest
Although his brother Hank might argue that the real "fault in our stars" is that our sun contains limited amounts of hydrogen, which will cause it to eventually run out of the only fuel source capable of supporting its mass against gravity, thereby expanding until its outer shell envelops our tiny planet and consumes it in a fiery death, I think it is more likely that John Green's title refers to a line from Shakespeare's Julius Caesar:

"The fault, dear Brutus is not in our stars, / But in ourselves, that we are underlings." Caesar (I, ii, 140-141)

What does this quote mean and how does it relate to a novel about two kids dying of cancer? I'll explore that below.

The Fault in Our Stars is the story of two 16-year-olds who meet at a cancer support group. Hazel Lancaster, the narrator, is afflicted with terminal thyroid cancer which has ravaged her lungs enough to necessitate the use of an oxygen tank wherever she goes. It is during a support meeting...

Verso Prologue Case Cover for Kindle Fire, Red (does not fit Kindle Fire HD)

Product Description Verso Prologue Red Cover for Kindle Fire and Kindle Keyboard By LightWedge It’s rare for a book to become a classic overnight. Just ask Henry David Thoreau. He only managed to publish two books during his lifetime, both of which were regarded as strange and weird. He even paid for the printing of one out of his own pocket, a 1,000-volume run of A Week on the Concord and Merrimack Rivers. Fewer than 300 sold before his death. Not until the 1920s did T...
  • Certified Made for Kindle Accessory (Kindle Fire). The Prologue cover was specifically designed for Kindle Fire.
  • Lightweight and exceptionally sturdy construction. No unnecessary bulk.
  • Microfiber interior lining protects your Kindle fire screen. Slim pocket for essentials.
  • Specially designed corner strap system features long-life elastic straps with no-slip silicone. Strap length, tension, and placement are custom-engineered to hold onto the Kindle Fire and not let go. (If you are looking for a cover to take the Kindle Fire in and out of frequently, we suggest a sleeve.)

This Cases give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Classy and trim, does the job
This evening I just received both the Kindle Fire and, in the same box, the Verso Prologue Cover (Tan)--and am really happy with both! As other reviewers have said, the cover looks beautiful, and it feels nice, like glove leather. I wanted a classy-looking, lightweight, trim cover and this fits the bill perfectly. It makes the Kindle look just like an antique book when it's sitting on the table.

The elastic IS a bit snug as other reviewers have said, but I think that's a GOOD thing. For comparison, I have an older M-Edge cover for a Kindle 3 that has looser elastics to hold in the top corners, and while it's ultraeasy to get the Kindle 3 in and out of the M-Edge cover, on the other hand I've occasionally found that the top outer corner elastic has essentially slipped off. So, I'm thinking a tighter elastic for the Kindle Fire is good: less sagging right at the get-go, and I don't really want any "give" when I'm say holding the Kindle Fire while using the elliptical...

2. Great for my Kindle Fire
I got this cover a day before I got my Kindle Fire which I received this morning. I read the other reviews and got nervous. Well the cover looks like an old time classic leather bound book. I put my Kindle Fire in and it fits great. Evidently people expect it to be a perfect "snug" totally flat fit. Now I will use this primarily for reading, so the speakers are of a minor concern to me, so the strap covering the edge near the speakers are a non issue. I streamed Julia Child for fun as a test and used ear phones .... and even took the phones out and heard Julia just fine. I just set it on my nightstand face down and it does lie flat with the beautiful spine showing. I think this cover is totally classy and I love that it has no zippers, straps, snaps, buttons, velcro tabs or ties. It looks like a book and opens in the same simple way.

Kindle Fire?
For the Verso Prologue Cover in Red: It has the feel of soft, lush leather -- although apparently it is not leather, but you could have fooled me. The problem I'm running into is, this is meant for the Kindle Fire? It just BARELY fits into the elastic straps at each corner. I forced it. I worry that the straps will loosen over time, but time will tell. And the cover doesn't lay completely flat when the "book" is closed. Maybe like leather, some use will cause the spine to accommodate and relax. It's a beautiful piece, though. I should return it, but I'm not going to, because it's that beautiful.

UPDATE: As others have pointed out, there is a backing to the elastic that really holds the Fire securely. That and the fact that it's a tight squeeze to get the Fire in place to begin with, I'm confident that the equipment is very secure. The elastics on top do cover some of the speaker outlet, but I don't notice a difference and when watching a movie or listening to music on a...

Pride and Prejudice

In this historic romance, young Elizabeth Bennet strives for love, independence and honesty in the vapid high society of 19th century England."It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife." Next to the exhortation at the beginning of Moby-Dick, "Call me Ishmael," the first sentence of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice must be among the most quoted in literature. And certainly what Melville did for whaling Austen does for marriage--tracing the intricacies (not to mention the economics) of 19th-century British mating rituals with a sure hand and an unblinking eye. As usual, Austen trains her sights on a country village and a few families--in this case, the Bennets, the ...

This Classics give to us some advantages, like this :
1. A Masterpiece of Wit and Style, A Timeless Work for the Ages
Jane Austen is one of the great masters of the English language, and PRIDE AND PREJUDICE is her great masterpiece, a sharp and witty comedy of manners played out in early 19th Century English society, a world in which men held virtually all the power and women were required to negotiate mine-fields of social status, respectability, wealth, love, and sex in order to marry both to their own liking and to the advantage of their family. And such is particularly the case of the Bennetts, a family of daughters whose father's estate is entailed to a distant relative, for upon Mr. Bennett's death they will lose home, land, income, everything. But are the Bennett daughters up to playing a winning hand in this high-stakes matrimonial game without forfeiting their own personal integrity?

This battle of the sexes is largely seen through the eyes of second daughter Elizabeth, who possesses a razor-sharp wit and rich sense of humor--and who finds herself hindered by her own addlepated...

2. Beautiful, sumptuous and satisfying
Just when I thought I had more editions of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE than I should ever own up to, I will freely admit to just one more. After all, what Janeite could resist this tempting package? An unabridged first edition text; Annotations by an Austen scholar; Color illustrations; Over-sized coffee table format; Extensive introduction; And, supplemental material - all pulled together in a beautifully designed interior and stunning cover. *swoon* Where are my aromatic vinegars?

This new annotated edition appeals to modern readers on many levels beyond being a pretty package of a beloved classic. Austen is renowned for her witty dialogue and finely drawn characters, but not for her elaborate physical descriptions or historical context. When PRIDE AND PREJUDICE was originally published in 1813, this brevity was accessible to her contemporary readers who assumed the inferences, but after close to two hundred years words have changed their meaning, insinuations and subtle asides...

This All-New Kindle Fire HD Extended Warranties give to us some advantages, like this :
1. 1/4 the price for this protection. Kindle
Ok, I was not sure that I was going to buy this protection until I started looking at how much it costs to insure the same type of thing online elsewhere. We pay 5 dollars a month to insure 4 of our smartphones that are similar price. That means I am paying 60 dollars per year. This was half that. If you try to insure a tablet it costs 75 for a year or 130 for two years. Being that I am buying this to cover a 1.5 year old kindle that got kicked when it was in my son's backpack at school, I wish that I had purchased it on that kindle.

2. oopssurance
This is the second electronic item we insured with this company. My daughter accidentally broke her computer and the company replaced the item very quickly and efficiently, worth the money.

  • Certified "Made for Kindle" accessory (Kindle Fire)
  • Designed to perfectly fit your Kindle Fire, while adding minimal bulk
  • Form-fitted design secures your Fire without hinges or straps
  • Convenient, multi-angle stand for typing, watching movies, and more
  • High grade elastic strap keeps cover closed when not in use

This Cases give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Second case
Update: Really like the case. It protects my fire very well while hauling it around in my backpack and the stand works great on my lap or desk or arm of chair while I'm watching videos or playing games. Realized there is not much of a description of the case on Amazon, so will try to describe here. It is all man-made material (so no leather). Back of the case is a rubberized plastic that holds the fire in place on the sides and protects the sides damage. The inside of the cover is microsuede and is very soft, so no scratching the glass. The cover itself is rigid and forms the bottom stand with three depressions to give three viewing angles. The cover is attached to the back by faux leather hinge which is micro suede on the inside and faux black leather on the outside. It attaches to back with a piece of faux leather glued to the back of the case and it covers most of the back of the case, so I think it will hold up well to regular use. There is an elastic band that holds the...

2. Good case
The kick stand works well. Yup, there's a noticeable fake leather smell that goes away. It feels better than plastic/rubber case. I just have one problem. how do you hold it in one hand when not using as kick stand? the cover doesn't fold back neatly because of the kickstand. why is it so hard to have a nice case that work as a kick stand also?

Serves its purpose
Purchased for use with the Kindle Fire. Seems to be a quality product that does exactly what it should. It protects the Fire and does a decent job of propping the Fire up when watching videos.
There are 2 things that keep me from giving it 5 stars:
- There is no place to store a stylus
- The grooves that keep the Fire propped up need to be just a little deeper

Overall, I'm very happy with this product.

BUILT Neoprene Kindle Fire HDX 7" Slim Sleeve Case, Lush Flower (fits the all new Kindle Fire HD and HDX 7")

Built NY Neoprene Slim Sleeve for Kindle Fire Scatter Dot - Built NY E-KS5-SDT.
  • Certified "Made for Kindle" accessory (Kindle Fire HDX 7", the all new Kindle Fire HD, and the original Kindle Fire)
  • Soft fuzzy inner lining is lint-free and provides soft protection for the screen
  • Proprietary hourglass shape provides an instant, BUILT-in bumper system for extra protection
  • Kindle fits snugly in this BUILT sleeve and will not move around or slide out
  • Machine wash cold; Air dry

This Sleeves give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Surprise Benefit
Built products never disappoint me, so I knew I couldn't go wrong with this sleeve for my Kindle Fire. For those of you who are skeptical about the opening that doesn't close completely: Don't worry. Your Kindle will not accidentally fall out. It is extremely secure. You can dangle it upside down, and your Fire will remain snug in its sleeve. The grooves at the bottom are there for you to grab with one hand as you pull the Fire out with the other hand. This makes removing the Fire quick and easy. I may get another one because it also fits my Kindle Keyboard perfectly as well. So, it doesn't have a built-in stand or a pocket for accessories, but you know what? It doesn't matter because it does what it's meant to do - protect your Kindle. Oh, and the surprise benefit: the fuzzy interior gently removes finger smudges as you insert or remove the Fire. I love that!!! I was just about to get the screen cleaner and cloth when I noticed my sleeve cleans the screen for me. Nice.

2. Perfect Fit!
I just got my Kindle Fire and I always carried my Kindle 2 wherever I went, so I knew I would need a case for the Fire. I knew I didn't really want something the Fire stayed in while I was using it so I knew I would be best with a sleeve or zippered pouch for it. I loved this pattern on the Built case. I was only concerned on if the Fire might slide out while I had it in my purse and become scratched. I didn't need to worry because these sleeve fits it perfectly! The kindle doesn't slide out at all! Also, these case is very slim. It does not add bulk to the unit so it will slide quite easily into my purse! Another plus, the inside is a surprising bright pink!

As Expected!
Very cute, love the color on the inside, fits perfect on my new Kindle Fire. Easy care instructions and holds it in place.

The Hunger Games Trilogy

The stunning Hunger Games trilogy is complete! The extraordinary, ground breaking New York Times bestsellers The Hunger Games and Catching Fire, along with the third book in The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins, Mockingjay, are available for the first time ever in e-book. Stunning, gripping, and powerful. The trilogy is now complete!

This Fantasy give to us some advantages, like this :
1. An haunting series that will stick with you long after the last page is turned
The Hunger Games (Trilogy) is one of the most "unputdownable" books to enter the teen market in a long time. The cliffhangers at the end of each volume are so intense, you can't help but continue on. Knowing this in advance, I decided against reading the series last summer despite the fact that everyone was talking about it. I waited the extra year, and I'm glad I did--even a week was torture when it came to getting my grubby mitts on a copy of Mockingjay.

For the record, this isn't a series for everyone. You will be drained emotionally by its end. The Hunger Games is one of the grimmest dystopian worlds I've encountered in literature. A lot of characters die, and their deaths aren't pleasant. This series may not be for you. Then again, those who know me well would say it's not for me, either. I'm one of the most squeamish people you'll meet, and The Hunger Games more closesly resembles the movie Battle Royale than I thought it would when I started reading. I really enjoyed...

2. A True Classic
Because I was such a fan of Suzanne Collins' The Underland Chronicles (also known as the Gregor the Overlander series), I picked up The Hunger Games the first week it was out and I feel privileged in a way to not only have read this series as it unfolded, but to have witnessed its climb in popularity over the last 2 years. That popularity is richly deserved.

Collins is both a talented writer and a gifted storyteller, two things that do not always go hand in hand. In The Hunger Games trilogy, she has created characters that will stay with me and has given them a hard and difficult story that will haunt me. She also managed to keep the quality of the series high throughout which is not always the case with a book series.

At the conclusion of book three - Mockingjay - Collins hasn't wrapped everything up in a neat little bow and slapped a happy face sticker on the bow's ribbon ends nor, IMHO, should she have done so. Instead, Collins provides a conclusion that suits...

3 stars for formatting
***This review only concerns the formatting for The Hunger Games Trilogy-Kindle edition***

I downloaded this ebook trilogy collection on 7/23/11 and have found the same inconsistent font defect as other reviewers. I noticed that the font would suddenly change when beginning a new chapter or if I returned to the page I was reading after viewing a highlight or dictionary defintion.

And like another reviewer, I have also found that once I passed page 377 (the actual page 377 is the cover of the second book in the trilogy, Catching Fire), the trilogy always indicates that I am on page 377 of 379, even though I am well beyond that page, and it is clear from the final location number that there are obviously more than 379 pages in this collection of three books. The locations, however, do seem to track properly.

Although these formatting defects are not dealbreakers and I really enjoyed the books, they are annoying (with the ever-changing font size being the...

For over 80 years, Harvard Business Review magazine has been an indispensable and unrivaled source of ideas, insight, and inspiration for business leaders worldwide. Each issue contains breakthrough ideas on strategy, leadership, innovation and management. Become a more effective leader by subscribing to Harvard Business Review.Kindle Magazines are fully downloaded onto your Kindle so you can read them even when you're not wirelessly connected. This magazine does not necessarily reflect the full print content of the publication.

This Business & Investing give to us some advantages, like this :
1. A clarification - this is the whole magazine
Other reviewers have said that you don't get the whole magazine when you get the Kindle edition, but this actually isn't true so I thought I would clarify. The issue here is with the layout of the Kindle edition. For the Kindle, you lose the magazine format and everything is instead linear like a book. The first 20 pages or so are reader comments and summaries of blog posts from the online edition. I imagine in the print edition it is more clear that this is just a discussion section (I don't currently subscribe to print so I can't say), but on the Kindle it reads as if you are just getting condensed articles. If you just stop here without reading on, it really will feel like you're not getting the full magazine. The real content, however, is still there! You just have to use the directional pad to skip the first few sections - same navigation system as found on the Wall Street Journal kindle edition, if you've ever used that. If anyone at HBR is reading this, it really would...

2. My wishes were granted !
I am wondering why wasn't the HBR on Kindle a long time back ! This is one of the perfect examples of a Kindle use. I have had 2-3 years of HBR subscription (physical) and it's such a bother storing them.

I would request / urge / plead the HBR folks to:

- remove all user/ reader reviews from the initial pages ! It's a huge distraction !

- To look at ways and means to improve the look and feel of the subscription on the Kindle. It's 6 dollar an issue and the kindle copy shouldn't be any less than the physical copy for an easy read.

Need more appointment... ?
It`s the full contents of HBR's magazine print edition
Having seen different reviews here both to the opinion that the Kindle edition of this magazine was and wasn't the full contents of the print edition, I took the trouble to compare the kindle and print editions article by article, and can assure it IS the full contents.
That said, it's maybe the best management magazine around. There are always insightful articles by top management gurus. It's a pity however that so much of the contents are focused in big business and so little in small and medium companies management. But that doesn't change the quality of its contents.

PUNCHCASE by Leslie Hsu Hansen Standing Case, Heroines Print - Made for Kindle Fire (will not fit HD or HDX models)

A high-fashion inspired print applauding history's favorite heroines decorates this tightly woven book cloth cover. The standing function allows you to display your Kindle Fire at multiple angles for easy viewing. A matching elastic closure holds your device safely inside. This cover is sure to be a conversation starter and a favorite among well-read fashionistas.
  • Certified "Made for Kindle" accessory (fits Kindle Fire)
  • Original high-fashion inspired artwork highlighting history's most important heroines
  • Multiple angle stand allows you to easily view your Kindle Fire hands-free
  • Easy elastic closure allows you to close your cover with confidence
  • Unique silicone backed 4-point elastics to secure your Kindle device

This Cases give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Buy one before I buy them all
I got this cover for my Kindle Paperwhite and it fits perfectly. I read some of the other reviews AFTER I bought the cover so I was worried after seeing people said it's flimsy and doesn't fit the Paperwhite. I think they may think their Nook is a Kindle and that's where the "fit" problem lies. The only way this cover could fit the Paperwhite better is if it were physically part of the device. As for the flimsy part, the "spine" is flexible which allows you to tuck the cover behind the Kindle while you read. Which is awesome. Ok, it's a little flimsy but how durable do you really need a Kindle cover to be? The stretchy straps that hold the device are tan (not black as pictured) but really, this isn't a problem outside of diagnosed OCD or people who are enraged that they were misled by the picture. Also, the straps have a non-slip grip on the side that touches the device so it's even more secure. Another reviewer mentioned that you have to turn the Kindle on and off manually because...

2. Provides Perfect Flexibility for Reading
Usually when I read, I don't want to have my Kindle in a cover, but I was looking for something less bulky than a sleeve to carry my Kindle around in and I wanted something that I'd be able to keep it in while reading if I was out of the house or in a car... something like that. I was looking for something that I could easily slip my Kindle in and out of, but something that would also be secure for when my Kindle is actually in it. A friend of mine got the new sleeve for the Kindle Paperwhite and when we tried to take it out it was very difficult. After looking at numerous covers on Amazon I eventually decided to order it and I'm glad I did. It's exactly what I was looking for! I also love the cute designs that it comes in. If I ever need to order a new cover, I will definitely look at one of these again.

Love the Punchcase!
I bought this Punchcase for my Kindle Fire because I loved the design -- so original. When I received it I was so pleased to find that it is very well constructed. It's really sturdy and I know it will protect my Kindle from my 5 and 6 year old kids who are sure to drop it on the floor. I also like that the elastic straps that hold the Kindle in place are nice and snug. The straps are rubberized on the inside so the Kindle doesn't slide around at all I love that it has a built-in stand for watching movies.

Highly recommend as a unique and inexpensive Christmas gift.

Marware Axis Genuine Leather Rotating, Standing Case for Kindle Fire HD 7" (Previous Generation), Orange (will only fit Kindle Fire HD 7", Previous Generation)

The Marware Axis is a high-quality, genuine leather folio that revolves around your new Kindle Fire HD 7". The Axis rotates your device 90 degrees so you can stand, type, read or watch it in the horizontal or vertical position. With three hands-free viewing angles, you’ll never have to strain your neck again. Take a walk and get lost in your favorite book with Marware’s signature hand strap that gives you a comfortable one-handed reading experience. Experience a new way to enjoy your Kindle Fire with the Marware Axis. It’s more than just a Kindle Fire case.
  • Designed to fit the Amazon Kindle Fire HD 7"
  • Case rotates 90 degrees to stand in both landscape mode (for games and movies) and portrait mode (for web surfing and reading)
  • Charging ports are only accessable when the case is open or closed, but turned 90 degrees
  • Genuine leather construction in vibrant color
  • Elastic strap keeps cover closed when not in use

This Cases give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Notch for Charging
Nice case - seems well constructed.

Stand works well in either orientation.

There is a notch on the side of the plastic insert that lines-up with the mini HDMI port. Good! I can leave the case on when connecting the Fire to my TV via HDMI.

However, there is not a notch for the power cord? In other words, to charge the Fire, you need to remove it from the case. Removing it from the case is not difficult but, why no notch for the power cord? I'm going to presume most people will charge the Fire much more often than hook it up to something else via the HDMI port.

2. Great case...if the holder was oriented correctly
UPDATE - Taking a star away now that I have had a few days to actually use this.

UPDATE - Just looked at the manufacturer's website. Apparently the reason for not making the charge ports accessible was to protect them from dirt and dust. All they had to do was make a flap that you could open to charge with the cover closed. It's done all the time on other cases like the Otterbox for phones.

Quality construction, but the plastic carrier for the Kindle is upside down and should be reversed so that you can close the case when charging. The hand strap pretty much assumes you are right-handed, although you can flip the Kindle and hold it the other way. I would prefer it if the hand strap was closer to the edge, but that's probably a personal preference since my hands are very small.

Everything but the charge port and micro HDMI port are available with the case closed. The charge port is also in the way if you want to set it up easel style to watch...

Need more appointment... ?
I hate this case.
The design issues that everyone else mentions are bad enough...but the biggest problem is that the inner plastic hard shell that holds the Kindle doesn't allow heat to dissipate. I queued up several albums to download, and the plastic shell trapped the battery heat, causing the Kindle to overheat and shut down. This is not a problem at all when the Kindle is not in the clutches of this case.
Do not buy this case!

  • Desined by Amazon to fit the Kindle Fire HDX 7", the all new Kindle Fire HD, and the original Kindle Fire
  • Simple, stylish, lightweight sleeve protects against scuffs and scratches
  • Convenient zipper closure keeps your device secure when you're on the go
  • Available in 5 colors

This Sleeves give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Not much to complain about
I got mine 2 days after my Kindle, and it's made a nice resting place for my Kindle when not in use.

Quality:
I certainly don't see any creases or obvious defects in workmanship like some other reviewers have claimed. The leathery handle material tends to pick up some finger grease occasionally, but that comes off easily with a cloth. While I can't say it's made of the most amazing material or quality, it's certainly comparable to many other sleeves. It beats the $5 - 10 eBay sleeves I've gotten for other devices, by far. I can't understand why people are leaving such negative reviews, that $30 is too much for something like this, especially when they clearly could see what it looked like in the product images (did you forget to zoom?) before purchasing. What I got was exactly as pictured and described, and I have very little room for complaints about the quality.

Smell:
I don't know what everyone else is smelling, but we're either all old here,...

2. kindle fire cover...i had hopes!
First time reviewing. I wanted to give this product a chance after preordering it and then subsequently reading negative comments as I anticipated its arrival. Here are my pros and cons:

Pros:
-I like the combo of the coral and brown kindle logo brown faux leather strip
-It does fit the kindle fire, although it is more snug than what I was expecting

Cons:
-It does have a chemical odor as others have stated
-It is very thin/ not much padding going on inside the "egg crate" style interior
-It is pretty overpriced for what you get...maybe not dollar store bad...but maybe $10 and it would be more realistic for what you get

I will be returning this for possibly a rooCASE which seemed to get much better reviews.
On the plus side, I am writing this review from my new fire and I'm pleased so far!

Edit: it looks like amazon is charging a fee to return this as it's not technically defective? I may end up keeping it...

Reasonable expectations, reasonable Zip Sleeve
Does the Kindle Fire Zip Sleeve smell? Yes. Mine arrived today, and as other reviewers have shrieked to the blackened skies of woe, there's a light-to-medium plastichemical odor.

Dealbreaker? Perhaps for some. Maybe my sense of smell has dulled a smidge over the years, but there's no way the sleeve's emanations will permeate a household, car, bus, bedroom, insert-enclosed-space here. After removing mine from the packaging, I parked it on my front porch in the fresh air for a couple of hours, and the scent is mostly diminished. I'm fairly confident the remaining odor will dissipate over time, but if it doesn't, I'm reasonably sure it's not going to induce mid-40s limb deformities. If you're overly sensitive to these types of odors, you'll probably want to save yourself the hassle and find something constructed from different materials.

Yes, it's expensive. I knew that when I bought it. I certainly wouldn't condemn the sleeve to an asinine 1-star review...

This Covers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Fantastic Case With A Few Flaws
So I've had over a week now to spend some time with both my Kindle Fire HD 8.9" and this particular leather case and I have to say, I honestly do not understand why it received so many negative reviews. However, that's not to say that this case doesn't have some issues (some more obvious than others).

Durability (5/5): You know, part of me wanted to make a video review showing me hurling this case straight down onto pavement. Could I do it? Sure! Do I think the Kindle would hold up if it were inside the case while I conducted this experiment? Yes. The reason why I didn't though is because I can only imagine how many people would cringe at the idea of looking at such a scene. Plus, while I am confident in the strength of the case, I'd rather be safe than sorry in this particular matter. Still, it does feel quite sturdy and I suppose the reason why people say (in other reviews) that it "feels cheap" is probably because it is so thin (which in my opinion is a good thing). If...

2. I'm surprised by some of the reviews
I don't think the cover seems cheaply made, nor have I had any trouble with the Fire falling over (I've used the stand only in the landscape orientation). I like the sleep/wake function built into the cover, the leather looks good, it adds very little weight to the Fire, there's no chemical smell, and the fit is snug without resorting to the use of corner straps or having to slip the Fire into a holder that covers the bezel. I like the cover so much I'm thinking of buying a second one in another color.

The Thinnest case I have seen, with some cons
OK, I could have given this case 3 stars for some of the cons. I did not because of the way Amazon markets the case on their site probably clarifies what you are buying. The key here is THINNESS! And many people love a thin LIGHT case. Amazon designed this case to be the thinnest, and Amazon may very well have achieved that. I think this is a good thing. So good, that I have given this case 5 stars. Just know, you are buying thin.

5 stars for thin and protective case... about half an inch with the FireHD 8.9. (hard to measure, I need calipers!). I will tell you why I think some of the one star ratings are given...and they fall in two areas: One, the case looks cheap when you see the lower half inside. Two, the case can not be propped at a low angle to one's desk and still type well on it. We will look at both of these items... there are, I am sure, other reasons for low rankings, some due to perceptions of "a good case."

First, everyone has (perhaps) their...

This Covers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. I consider this the best case for the All-New Kindle Fire 7" Tablet!
We bought two of these for our sons' Kindles - the All-New Kindle Fire 7" tablet (currently $139.00) - and LOVE them so far. These cases FIT PERFECTLY. I have read a few other reviews stating that they do not, but I assure you that they do fit, and all buttons, ports, speakers are fully accessible. We bought these cases based on previous experience with OtterBox Defender cases for the iPhone, and these are built very similar. It has the internal hard plastic shell with the built-in clear screen protector which basically envelopes the entire device, the rubber/silicone outer cover that hugs around the internal case, and a cover/shell that can be snapped over the front to add another layer of protection when the Kindle is not being used. This cover also doubles as a stand that can be utilized in a variety of ways. I feel confident now that they boys' Kindles are much more protected and can live up the normal abuse children can inflict on electronic devices. Another huge...

2. Epic Failure
We bought two Otter Box Defenders to protect the Kindle Fire HDs we bought for our sons. I am not sure who the designers or engineers were for the Otter Box but not being able to charge them or plug in head phones while in the case is a major oversight. Having to remove the Kindles from the case to access the head phone jack defeats the purpose of buying them in the first place. Even the ability to turn the Kindle on and off is a challenge while inside the case. The designers placed openings on both sides of the back of the case for what I assumed to be access to the power and volume buttons, unfortunately you can barley use them. The two cases I purchased will be returned very soon.

Nothing even comes close.
I ordered this back on the 30th of September and felt that it was going to be worth the wait. I was not disappointed. This case gives the New Kindle all around protection, including the screen. Now, this case is not for the "I just need a cover" crowd. This case is a tank and looks like it will stand up to just about anything besides being put under water that you can throw at it.

Forget the Square Trade protection plan, get one of these and forgidaboutit.

Verso Trends Scholar for Kindle Fire (Black/White) (does not fit Kindle Fire HD)

Verso Scholar Cover for Kindle Fire and Kindle Keyboard By LightWedge The Verso Scholar cover brings the iconic style of a traditional composition book to today's digital world, complete with a marbled black and white design, "Composition" label and black spine. Once you hold it in your hands, nostalgia reigns. The white interior is lined in blue to simulate the familiar pages of the classic notebook, bringing back an old-sch...
  • Certified "Made for Kindle" accessory (Kindle Fire)
  • Sturdy cover protects your device from damage
  • Patent-pending, universal corner elastic design secures your device snugly within the cover

This Cases give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Unsafe text
The look of this is very cool
Retro-chic and so old-school
Great for teacher/boss misleading
"Wow! She made notes - and she's reading!!"

The problem with the Verso Trends
Is that the cover twists and bends
Because it's mostly pliant plastic
With corner straps made of elastic

If by chance it takes a fall
There's no protection there at all
Without a strap to keep it shut
Your Kindle may just go kaput

In short, this cover's just for looks
To stash your Kindle with your books
A talking point, I will admit
But otherwise, it's just a nostalgic gimmick that's really cute, but not terribly durable*.

*(Not the last line you were expecting)

Amanda Richards, December 27, 2012

2. I real love the old school look
I really wanted this to give my kindle the old school notebook look.
It works great and looks really good. It looks like a real notebook.
The only issue I see is it is really overpriced for the quality, at almost $40.
I think it should be priced at $15-$20.

Interesting Cover Design, But Doesn't Provide Enough Protection
On the surface the Verso Trends Scholar for Kindle Fire is interesting. It holds ones Kindle Fire firmly, and it is sure to draw comments from others when they see it. HOWEVER, heaven help you if you drop it because testing this, on my bed, showed that half the time it opens and your Kindle Fire with hit the floor. If it had an elastic strap that would hold it shut, like the leather cover I use now, and costs only a few dollars more, I could give this a five star recommendation. I did notice there is a magnet embedded in the cover that keeps the cover shut when the product information cardboard piece is in it, but the magnet does not attach itself to the face of the Kindle Fire glass. Additionally, my other cover has where I can support my Kindle at an angle for viewing from a table top.

In showing it to my college student stepdaughter, she thought it looked great, and she could see a working woman having this in her purse, but she was concerned about it not staying...

BUILT Kindle Fire Slim Folio Case, Vine

Amazon.com: BUILT Slim Folio for Kindle Fire: Kindle Store Product Description From the Manufacturer Why We BUILT It Because you want the very best protection for your Kindle Fire with a little something extra. This case delivers in spades: Its lightweight design looks great on the go and it converts into a sturdy viewing stand when you’re ready to read. Yeah, we thought of everything. The Best Of All Worlds The Slim Cover is the perfec...
  • Certified "Made for Kindle" accessory (Fits Kindle Fire)
  • Lightweight cushioned cover and faux-suede inner lining provide total protection; Form-fit mesh corners hold Kindle securely in place
  • Cover converts to a sturdy stand for hands-free reading; Elastic strap secures front cover in place when open or closed; Direct access to all ports and buttons
  • Exterior: Black with white graphic design; Interior: Hot pink

This Cases give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Built by BUILT This Kindle Case Does Job With Maybe One Exception
There are way too many table cover and case companies on the market - all making products strangely similar to each other in price, design and features. To make it worse is the specialization among products. There are, for instance, separate cases and covers for the Kindle keyboard tablet, for Kindle Fire, and for Kindle Fire HD.

The company BUILT has built a slim case for the Kindle Fire with a sharp and attractive mini dot design. Like others it opens and tents backwards and has anti-slip gripping material to hold it in place. All the ports and buttons are accessible - if you select the right case for the right product. The inner lining and soft to protect the screen.

What I don't like is the elastic strap in the four corners. To use, you slide your Kindle Fire in place under the four corner straps, acting on faith that it will keep your device securely in place. Other cases I feel more secure with because you slide your device into place and it is tighly...

2. Starts sliding out after a month of use.....
The cover is deep olive green with skulls on it and is made of an artificial nylon-feeling fabric which is padded on the outside and deep chartreuse on the inside. The inside is artificial leather, and the brighter color. The kindle cover fits the old Kindle fire, and the kindle is held in place by a nylon (sort of like panty-hose) stretchy fabric in four corners. There is no stylus loop. There is an elastic band that flips over your kindle to keep it securely inside.

Inserting the kindle into the nylon stretch corners took some effort. This may be tough for young children or seniors. It kept sliding out and didn't feel secure. However, once I did manage to get all 4 corners inside, it seems fine now. I am not sure how this method for securing the kindle will last.

I felt this kindle cover is very basic. The lack of stylus loop is a big negative for me. I don't use my finger, and don't want to have to hook my stylus onto the case which is what I am forced to do...

  • Designed exclusively for Kindle Fire HD (7" model) by kate spade new york
  • High-quality exterior shields your device from the elements and protects its screen when not in use
  • Special design details include "kate spade new york" logo featured on the case

This Kindle Fire HD 7" (Previous Generation) Covers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Looks nice :)
This case looks really nice, but I do wish it had certain features that other, much less expensive cases have. What you see is what you get. There is no inside pocket and no way to prop up the case so it stands on it's own. Having said that the description is accurate and it looks super cute.

2. Cute Case!
My kindle HD fits perfectly in the case and the front cover easily flips back for reading. I do wish that it had some type of closure. I am using an elastic band to keep it closed when transporting it. A zipper or snap would be a great addition to the cover.

Cute but pricey
I'm glad I waited to buy my kindle case. I could not find any that fit my style. When I saw they made Kate Spade kindle covers I was really excited as her designs are visually pleasing. I love my case but thought it was pricey for the material (canvas). I hope this case will last for awhile.

This Cases give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Great Kindle Fire Case
I spent a lot of time looking for Kindle Fire cases, I am obsessive about finding the perfect case for my electronics. When I was looking for a case for the Kindle Fire, I wanted something sleek and lightweight and the Belkin case turned out to be the perfect case for me.

I spend the majority of my time using the Kindle Fire in landscape mode, so this case is perfect. Once the Fire is in place, it is very easy to slide the case into a stand. I looked at other cases, and they seemed to be a little too bulky for my tastes. This case is a lightweight, soft leather with a plush inside. The Fire fits perfectly inside the case and the straps that hold the fire in place look delicate but are very sturdy. I also liked the different options for the stand - I can adjust how much of an angle I want the Fire to be at - it actually makes a very large difference: like if I am sitting with the Fire in my lap vs. when I am laying down with the Fire on top of my stomach. When not using in...

2. The high quality case for your Kindle Fire
I purchased this product at Best Buy shortly after I bought my Kindle Fire (KF). It was priced at $39.00 at the time, but is now available for $27.00 while on sale.

Some thoughts on the Verve Folio Stand for the Kindle Fire by Belkin...

1.) made of a quality leather

2.a) the inside panel that actually comes in contact with the KF screen is made of leather that has a soft, velvety quality.
2.b) outer panels... a harder, tougher surface that has a slight pebbly quality to prevent slipping.

3.) viewing angle (landscape)... it is possible by folding the case back on itself, to view the screen at a slope anywhere from about 33 degrees to just below vertical (90 degrees)... great for finding that perfect reading angle.

4.) form fitting... minimal width or bulk added to your KF when folded up.

5.) access to controls... the open sides allow you complete access to the power/sleep button, headphone jack and microUSB port for...

3.5 - 4
I examined Kindle Fire covers ad nauseum. I finally made a choice and thought it was a good one. There are many things I like about the cover but dislike that it doesn’t fit as well as I expected.
It doesn’t close flatly. The cover sticks up leaving a gap between the front and back of the cover.
Secondly, it’s great when used in landscape mode but not in portrait mode – and some apps only come in portrait.

Verso Artist Series Cities Case for Kindle Fire HD 7" (Previous Generation), Red (will only fit Kindle Fire HD 7", Previous Generation)

Product Description Verso Artist Series Cities Cover for Kindle Fire HD 7" By LightWedge Artist Sharyn Sowell often works as an artist on board cruise ships, so she spends a lot of time traveling all over the world for work. “I found myself musing over the cities I’ve visited, thinking how some are breathtakingly beautiful, some haunting and mysterious, some serene,” says Sharyn. “Places fascinate me because they are the essence of the people who inh...

1. Stylish Case
This is a beautiful case and it snuggly holds my Kindle Fire HD. It also operates as a stand for watching videos, which is essential for a tablet. The only thing it's missing is a strap to keep the cover closed when I'm not using it. Other than that, it's one of the best cases I've seen.

2. Absolutely gorgeous cover for your HD Fire
I love my electronics, but I'm a bit picky about the covers. I will admit that I usually choose function over aesthetics, but this cover really has me hooked and my Fire has been living happily in it every since. It's just so darn... cute. It's so lightweight and stylish. It doesn't feel or look anything like an electronics case/cover. It looks like a journal or an interesting book.

The Fire is held in by 4 elastic bands (very snuggly) and it includes a small pocket to hold cards, etc on the inside cover. There's nothing overly fancy about the function, but for those of us that want to pretty up our stuff, this is definitely a keeper.

Beautiful product, well executed and just plain pretty. Recommended for us girls who like a little flair with our geekdom.

Beautiful and Practical
This Kindle cover both looks and feels wonderful, with a nice degree of texture. It closes firmly, uses simple elastic bands to hold the Kindle (no struggling!), and includes a pocket where you can tuck notes or cards.

A cover protects the Kindle, and also makes it more like a book to read, for those who enjoy holding a book. While it's not specifically designed to stand up, you can fold the cover back and create a secure horizontal stand without damage to the cover.

  • Genuine leather exterior combined with a soft, micofiber interior protects your device

This Cases give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Solid Case for your Kindle Fire 7" HD
I like this Marware Revolve Case for my seven-inch Kindle Fire HD. A lot. It's solid, well-made and does exactly what it says it will do. It protects my investment.

PROS:
1) The Marware Revolve allows for hands-free viewing in both portrait and landscape formats.
2) Your Kindle snaps into the case firmly and doesn't come out unless *you* take it out.
3) This case has an elastic band that holds it firmly closed when your Kindle Fire HD is not in use. Plus, it looks sleek and professional.
4) I actually DROPPED my Kindle Fire HD on my tile bedroom floor, while it was secured in this case -- and it came through in perfect condition! YEAH!

CONS:
1) The case comes with an online video for use. Just sayin'...

The Marware Revolve comes in a variety of colors. (My personal fave is the Hot Pink.) It's easy to use and truly protects my Kindle Fire HD from my clumsy-tude. Any case that can do *that* gets five stars from me...

2. Axis Leather case for Kinde Fire HD 7 inch
This is a very nice leather case that uses quality materials. However, I do not feel it is a valuable product for use with the Kindle Fire. The problem I have with this case is that it is bulky and does not provide good control when using the hand strap. First, the bulky part:

This case is twice the thickness of other cases and weighs almost as much as the Kindle does. When you go to close the unit, the leather hand strap presses upon the glass of the kindle. You must bend the cover slightly to get it to close and then depend upon the strap to keep it closed. I am not sure if this will cause issues with the display, but it is worth noting.

Second, Loss of Control with the hand strap:

In order to use the hand strap, you MUST keep the strap at the bottom when you insert your (either left or right hand) hand so that you can use your thumb to keep the unit from flipping open!!! The pivot point that allows the unit to perch for viewing has no...

Nice case
I love being able to rotate the kinds in this case, and I love that this is real leather. There are a lot of plastic cases out there. Leather is far more durable, nice to the touch, and provides some nice padding.

I like this case, it looks very nice. I also feel like it provides good protection for the Kindle. Leather is water resistant, so it will protect your kindle from casual splashes.

The rotation feature is great. I had another case, which also acted as a stand, but only in landscape. This is fine for movies, but for books I find portrait mode is easier.
